Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday called on RSS volunteers to reach out to every household and unite all Hindus. He emphasised building a society free of caste-based discrimination and one that is conscious of its responsibilities toward the nation.
During his visit to Deen Dayal Upadhyaya School in Nawabganj, Bhagwat addressed swayamsevaks and held four internal meetings focused on shakha operations, student outreach, and other organisational matters. “We should have contact with every family in the shakha area. Work has to be done to unite all Hindus,” he said, urging that values (“sanskar”) be instilled in every household to revive the Sanatan tradition.
Bhagwat stated that the RSS’s work is centred on personality development — a process that includes recognizing one’s responsibilities toward family, society, the nation, and the world. “We say that the world is a family,” he remarked, adding that the Sangh’s work has expanded into many areas of social life.
With the RSS now in its centenary year, Bhagwat said the organisation is working on the “Panch Parivartan” (Five Transformations) initiative to bring about broad societal change. The aim, he said, is to foster a society that lives in harmony with the environment and is free from caste inequality.
He also called for equal access to temples, water sources, and cremation grounds, saying these should belong to all sections of society.
Meanwhile, in Kanpur, a training camp for swayamsevaks is underway from May 21 to June 10, focusing on building a caste-free society. RSS general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale has been overseeing volunteer training during the past two days.
