The Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman told US Secretary of State Antony Blinken that he doesn’t care about the “Palestinian issue,” reported US magazine The Atlantic.

The US secretary of state Antony Blinken visited Saudi Arabia in January when he met the Saudi Prince and discussed the anticipation for a normalization with Israel amid the Gaza genocide.

The Atlantic reported that the Prince expressed his desire to see stability in Gaza if normalization happens.

Speaking to Blinken he said, “ 70% of the Saudi population is younger than me. Most of them did not know about the Palestine issue so now they are being introduced to it for the first time and it is a huge problem.”

“I don’t personally care about Palestine but since my people do, I have to make it meaningful to them.”

Earlier in his public statements the Saudi prince said that the kingdom will not normalize relations with Israel until the establishment of the Palestinian state.

During his address to the Shura Council in Riyadh, he said, “Saudi will not stop its efforts to establish an independent Palestinian state in East Jerusalem as its capital.”

“We will not have any diplomatic ties with Israel until the state is formed,” he added.

Meanwhile, one of the Saudi officials has told the Middle East Eye that the overview of the exchange between the Prince and Antony Blinken is “incorrect”.
