Three employees from the Revenue Department in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh, have been suspended after a video surfaced showing them throwing money at a dancer during a farewell party for a Tehsildar.

The video, which quickly spread on social media, showed woman bar dancer at the event, where attendees appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. An FIR has been lodged against the suspended employees, and an investigation is currently underway, according to district police officials.

The incident took place at the Lalganj Ajhara tehsil in Pratapgarh, where the District Magistrate (DM) promptly took action against the employees involved. The FIR also names two additional lekhpals (accountants) and a case has been registered against 25 unidentified individuals.

The FIR primarily names KK Saroj, President of the Lekhpal Sangh, Sanjay Yadav, a lekhpal, and Brijendra Singh, a Tehsil’s Amin, accusing them of hosting the alcohol and dace party without formal permission.

The DM has ordered an investigation into the conduct of these revenue officials. The event, organized in honor of outgoing Tehsildar Dhirendra Singh, included a performance by a female dancer, during which one of the officials was seen joining the woman in an obscene dance.

Allegations are that the officials reportedly squandered money on alcohol and entertainment.

District Magistrate Dr. Sanjeev Ranjan confirmed that disciplinary action had been taken after the video came to light, leading to the suspension of three officials.
