The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday said they arrested a man from Faridabad for sheltering suicide bomber Umar Un Nabi in the days leading up to the deadly car bombing outside the Red Fort on November 10. The blast killed several people and injured many others.
Officials identified the arrested man as Soyab, a resident of Dhauj in Faridabad. He is the seventh person taken into custody in the case. According to investigators, Soyab provided Umar Un Nabi with a safe place to stay and helped arrange key logistical support just before the explosion.
A senior official said, “We are verifying the nature of assistance he provided and how closely he was involved with the bomber.”
The NIA has already arrested six others accused of helping the suicide bomber by facilitating communication, movement, or other support. The agency is working with police teams in multiple states to track down anyone who may have contributed to the planning or execution of the attack.
Search operations continue at several locations, with investigators examining phone data, call records and travel routes of all suspects. Officials said this is crucial to understanding the full chain of events.
The NIA said its investigation is far from over and more arrests are expected. “We are working to uncover the entire network behind the November 10 attack,” an official said, adding that the bomber may have been supported by a larger group operating across state lines.
