Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK president M.K. Stalin has strongly criticised the central government’s policies on language and education, saying they threaten the identity and rights of students in the state.
Speaking at the South Zone Youth Wing Conference in Virudhunagar on Saturday, Stalin said, “Whenever our mother tongue, Tamil, was under threat, we fought relentlessly to protect it. Even today, under the guise of the three-language policy, efforts are on to impose Hindi. We will never allow that.”
He also raised concerns about the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, or NEET, claiming that it disadvantages students from rural areas and economically weaker sections. “Reservation opened doors for many communities that were denied education and jobs. Now, exams like NEET are trying to close those doors again,” he said.
Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, addressing the youth volunteers, urged them to take the DMK’s message of social justice, linguistic pride, and state rights to every household. The conference was attended by a large number of party workers and youth, and leaders said the youth wing would play a key role in spreading Dravidian ideology ahead of upcoming assembly elections. The event ended with resolutions reaffirming the party’s commitment to protecting Tamil language, culture, and social equity.
