A JCB machine was deployed outside the house of a Maharashtra man accused of sexually assaulting and exploiting minors in Amravati district, where officials removed allegedly portions of the structure, including an external iron staircase.
The accused, Mohammad Ayaz alias Tanveer, a resident of Paratwada in Amravati, is facing serious charges including sexual assault, harassment, and recording obscene videos of minors.
Videos from the site showed the JCB demolishing an iron staircase built outside the house, which reportedly provided access to the upper floor. The action was carried out by the Achalpur Municipal Council, with heavy police deployment in the area.
BJP MLA Pravin Tayade was also present during the demolition operation, officials said.
Notice issued before demolition action
Officials stated that the municipal body had already issued notices to the accused’s family regarding alleged encroachment and illegal construction prior to the demolition drive.
Authorities said the action was taken as part of routine enforcement against unauthorised structures, while security was tightened due to the sensitivity of the case.
Accused arrested in “love trap” exploitation case
The demolition comes amid an ongoing criminal investigation in which the 19-year-old accused was arrested on April 11.
Police allege that he lured minor girls through a “love trap”, took them to cities like Mumbai and Pune, and recorded explicit videos without consent. These videos were then allegedly used to blackmail victims and coerce them into sexual exploitation.
According to police, over 350 obscene videos were recovered during the investigation, and at least 180 minors are suspected to have been targeted.
The case came to light after a complaint was submitted by a BJP MP, leading to immediate police action.
Social media links and investigation widen
Officials said the accused allegedly used platforms such as WhatsApp and Snapchat to identify and target victims. Police are also investigating whether the videos were shared within a wider network or circulated online.
The accused and another suspect, Uzer Khan, have reportedly confessed to their involvement during interrogation. Three additional arrests have also been made in connection with the case.
Police have seized the accused’s mobile phone, which is being examined for further evidence.
Probe continues, cyber monitoring underway
Law enforcement agencies said cyber cells are actively tracking the circulation of objectionable content online and attempting to remove videos from social media platforms.
Officials also warned that individuals who download or redistribute the videos could face legal action.
The investigation remains ongoing, with police not ruling out further arrests as they probe the wider network behind the alleged exploitation case.
