A court in Nashik has refused to grant interim protection from arrest to Nida Khan in the ongoing case linked to alleged religious harassment and sexual misconduct at a Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) office.
The anticipatory bail plea filed by Nida Khan was heard by the sessions court, which declined her request for interim relief. The court has now fixed April 27 as the next date to hear both her anticipatory bail application and plea for temporary protection.
Khan had approached the court seeking protection from arrest until her bail plea is decided, but the court did not grant any immediate relief.
“Accused Still Untraceable”
Khan is currently the only accused who has not been arrested in the case so far. Police have formed multiple teams to trace her, with one team reportedly reaching Mumbra as part of the search operation.
According to Sandip Karnik, she is named in one FIR related to allegations of religious harassment at the company’s unit.
What the Allegations Say
The case involves serious allegations, including sexual harassment, attempted forced religious conversion, and mental harassment of women employees at the TCS facility.
Investigators have registered multiple FIRs, and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) is probing the matter. So far, eight employees have been arrested, including both male staff and a female operations manager.
Defence Cites Pregnancy, Denies Charges
In her anticipatory bail plea, Khan cited her two-month pregnancy and argued that the charges against her carry a punishment of less than seven years.
Her lawyer denied the allegations, stating that she cannot be accused of outraging the modesty of other women and questioned the delay in filing the FIR.
TCS Clarification
Earlier, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) clarified that Nida Khan worked as a process associate and did not hold any managerial or HR position, countering some earlier reports.
