Greeting people on Milad-un-Nabi, which marks the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad, Modi said the occasion should strengthen togetherness and compassion.
“Eid Mubarak! Greetings on Milad-un-Nabi. I hope this occasion furthers togetherness and joy all around us. May the spirit of kindness and giving back to society always guide us,” the Prime Minister said in a post on X.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also extended his greetings on the occasion, saying, “May this occasion bring peace and prosperity to all. I hope that the spirit of harmony and compassion is further strengthened in our society. Eid Mubarak!”
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also wished people on Eid Milad-un-Nabi and said, “May this festival bring happiness, peace, prosperity, and joy into your life.”
President Murmu Recalls Prophet Muhammad’s Teachings
President Droupadi Murmu had extended greetings to citizens on the eve of both festivals on Tuesday.
On Milad-un-Nabi, Murmu said the occasion was an opportunity to remember the teachings of Prophet Muhammad and expressed hope that his ideals would inspire people to contribute towards building an inclusive and developed India.
Onam is a ten-day harvest festival that culminates with Thiruvonam, the most important day of the celebrations. It is traditionally marked by floral decorations, cultural events and the preparation of the traditional Onasadya feast.
Milad-un-Nabi, also known as Eid-e-Milad, is observed by Muslims to commemorate the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad.
