Seven Police officers in Rajasthan Bhiwadi have been suspended for allegedly tracking the location of their SP for over a month without authorisation.

SP Jyeshtha Maitreyi was being monitored with the help of her mobile number by seven members of her own team. SP Jyeshtha started investigating after a tip off on Oct 6 and reported it to the Police Headquarters. On confirmation by Jaipur range police,  Jyeshtha suspended all the cops involved, after approval from the department.

Jyeshtha Maitreyi, a young IPS officer hailing from Rajasthan was appointed as an ASP in Girwa Circle of Udaipur. She was then appointed as an ASP in Bhilwara and then as a DSP in Jaipur.

Expressing disappointment at the betrayal by her team, SP Jyeshtha said, “I have been carrying out all of my duties with loyalty. I never knew the officers of my own team would betray me like this. I had no idea I was being monitored and traced through my phone.”

IG Ajay Pal Lamba speaking to The Times Of India said, “As of now, the officers have been suspended. If there was any criminal conspiracy behind it, an FIR will be registered against them.”

An investigation is underway to determine the reasons behind the illegal tracing.
