In a historic first, Saudi Arabia will be participating in the Miss Universe beauty pageant this year.

The upcoming Miss Universe competition will take place in Mexico in September this year. And we will also witness Iran’s debut along with Saudi Arabia.

Rumy-al-Qahtani, a 27-year-old Saudi model and social media influencer, will be representing Saudi Arabia at the global beauty pageant. Qahtani announced her debut at Miss Universe in a post on her Instagram account.

“I am honored to participate in the Miss Universe 2024 competition. This is the first participation of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the Miss Universe competition,” she wrote in her post.

According to Indian express Alqahtani holds a Bachelor’s degree in dentistry and is proficient in multiple languages, including English, French, and Arabic. She has also been crowned Miss Saudi Arabia, Miss Middle East (Saudi Arabia), and Miss Arab World Peace 2021.

The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) is an international entity that embraces diversity, honoring various cultures, ethnicities, and beliefs.

The pageant typically extends over a month, from March to June, encompassing rehearsals, public appearances, and preliminary rounds, culminating in the crowning of the new winner by the reigning title holder at the final event.

Last year’s  Miss Universe Sheynnis Palacios from Nicaragua will pass on her crown to the next titleholder. For the first time a contestant  from Nicarargua became the winner of the contest. Second place was secured by Antonia  Porsild from Thailand and Morya Wilson from Australia secured Third place respectively.
