Nasir Khuehami, Convener of the Jammu & Kashmir Students Association, has alleged receiving disturbing death and rape threats targeting him and his family from an individual based in West Bengal. The threats, he says, are in response to his continued efforts to support Kashmiri students and businessmen following the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 lives.

In a public statement, Khuehami identified the caller as a man who referred to himself as “Numu”, operating from the mobile number +91 9239478172. According to Khuehami, the caller threatened to kill and mutilate him and made graphic threats of sexual violence against his mother and sisters.

“The language used was not just abusive, but monstrously vile,” Khuehami wrote. “This is what it means today to speak for Kashmiris in India — to be threatened, dehumanized, and marked for death.”

Khuehami said the threats came in retaliation for his work assisting Kashmiri students, shawl sellers, and traders across the country, particularly in the wake of the Pahalgam massacre.

Despite the intimidation, he vowed to continue his work undeterred.

“I refuse to bow before hate and threats. If anything happens to me, let the people of this country know it was because I chose to serve, to help, and to speak — when it was easier to stay quiet.”

He has urged law enforcement agencies to take immediate action and investigate the threats, stressing that they are recorded, real, and intentional.

As of now, there has been no official response from police authorities.
