West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee issued a strong warning against voting for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming elections. She claimed that if Prime Minister Narendra Modi returns to power, there would be no democracy left in India, and no elections would be held after that, turning the country into a dictatorship.

Banerjee, speaking at rallies in Birbhum and Burdwan, launched a scathing attack on Modi. She said, “If this an election to elect Modi babu to power then rest assured there will be no election after this if he returns and India will turn into a dictatorship where the ED and CBI and NIA will reign supreme and where everything will be sold out from government concerns to your culture to your food and two your country.”

Interestingly, Banerjee expressed her appreciation for other senior BJP leaders like Rajnath Singh and Nitin Gadkari, wondering why the party did not choose them as prime ministerial candidates instead of Modi. She said, “My question is Rajnath ji is a good and decent person and a senior too then why did the BJP not make him the Prime Minister or for that matter Nitin Gadkari ji … instead of these decent people the rioters whose hands are red with blood are ruling the country today.”

Mamata Banerjee also criticized the alleged dictation of food habits in BJP-ruled states. She questioned, “In Madhya Pradesh, they have stopped eating fish and in Rajasthan, they are not letting people eat eggs … my question is I too like vegetarian and Dhokla but can you force me to eat that … remember 80 per cent of Indians are non-vegetarians … then how can you dictate their food habits … even we do not take non-veg during our pujas but you cannot dictate us regarding what we will eat and what we will wear.”
