Bihar: Dalit Teenager Allegedly Tied to Tree and Assaulted for Hours Following Accusation of Stealing One Rupee

A 14-year-old boy in Bihar’s Samastipur, was subjected to several hours of physical assault after being accused of stealing a one-rupee coin.

This incident was captured on video and has been widely circulated on various social media platforms. The footage shows the young teenager being tied to a tree and subjected to severe beating.

The video footage reveals the disturbing sight of the victimized teenager being brutally beaten, with water forcefully sprayed on him using a high-pressure pipe typically used for car washing.

The video shows a crowd of individuals gathered at the scene, some standing together in a group. Interestingly, a few individuals are even seen seated while carrying chairs.

The victim, identified as Kishore Deepak Kumar said that he was accused of stealing chocolates.

Kumar said that the shopkeeper named Moti Shah and his accomplices tied him up with a rope and subjected him to continuous physical assault from 9 am to 6 pm.

Deepak Kumar stated that throughout the entire incident, the Panchayat head, Dilip Singh, was present, but he didn’t to intervene or come to his rescue.

The Samastipur police have taken action in response to the incident and have filed a First Information Report (FIR). Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the case. The FIR includes sections related to caste violence, indicating the gravity of the offense.

Superintendent of Police Vinay Tiwari commented on the issue, stating, “Upon receiving notification of this incident yesterday, we assembled a team led by the SDPO and initiated an investigation. Currently, two individuals, namely Amardeep Sah and Moti Sah, have been apprehended following the registration of an FIR. The arrests took place in Mahe village. Following interrogation, both suspects have been remanded to jail.”
