Jhansi: Minor Adivasi Girl Killed With Stones, Dead Body Found In Half Naked Condition; Suspicion Of Murder After Rape

An incident of murder of a minor girl has come to light from a tribal settlement in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. Her semi-nude body was found on Friday morning, about 100 meters away from her home.

According to the mother, the girl had gone out to defecate on Thursday evening and did not return home. Upon getting worried about her whereabouts, the mother searched for her deceased daughter throughout the night but could not find her. 

On Friday morning, her body was discovered with severe head injuries in semi-nude condition, a few meters away from her home. It is suspected that she was sexually assaulted and crushed with a stone later. 

The incident occurred in Gochikheda village under Babina police station of Jhansi district. 

In the matter, SSP Babina, said that information was received in the morning that a dead body of a 16-17 year old girl was found in a semi-nude state. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot.  

In tears, the distraught mother has been reported by local media channels, saying,  “My daughter was a bright and cheerful student who aspired to become a teacher.”  She further said that she had no enmity with anyone, and demanded justice for her daughter.

The Forensic team and senior officers were also present at the incident site. Post-mortem investigations have confirmed the use of a stone in the fatal attack that led to the unfortunate demise of the minor girl.

“Intensifying efforts to uncover the details of the incident, separate investigative teams have been formed. Also many people are being probed,” said the SSP.
