Alt News Editor Mohammad Zubair Faces FIR for Allegedly Revealing Identity of Minor in Muzaffarnagar School Incident

The Uttar Pradesh Police have lodged a First Information Report (FIR) against Mohammad Zubair, the editor of Alt News, a well-known fact-checking website. The FIR accuses Zubair of revealing the identity of a minor student at a school in Muzaffarnagar.

According to the police, the FIR was filed after it was alleged that Mohammad Zubair had publicly disclosed the identity of a minor student in Muzaffarnagar. The disturbing incident that took place at a local school in Muzaffarnagar has sparked widespread outrage after a video went viral on social media. In the video, a school teacher named Trapta Tyagi subjected a young seven-year-old Muslim student to degrading treatment within the classroom. The teacher’s actions included making Islamophobic remarks and instructing the student’s classmates to physically slap him, while also encouraging them to do so with more force.

“A video has gone viral on social media in Neha Public School Khubbapur episode, it has come to my notice that journalists of ALT NEWS the identity of the victim child was exposed in the video by Mohammad Zubair, which is a violation of the rights of the child under the Juvenile Justice Act, so it is requested to please take appropriate legal action,” the FIR read.

Zubair, a prominent figure in the world of digital journalism, is renowned for his work in debunking misinformation and providing factual information to the public.

Local authorities have stated that they are investigating the matter thoroughly to determine whether the allegations against Zubair hold merit.
