Muslim Family in Agra Targeted, Girl Sexually Assaulted as Four Men Attack Their Home

On Tuesday evening, in a neighbourhood falling under the jurisdiction of the Trans Yamuna police station, it is reported that four men forcibly entered the residence of a Muslim family. They allegedly sexually assaulted an 18-year-old girl and attacked other family members who tried to defend themselves.

The incident gained widespread attention when a video capturing the incident surfaced on social media the following day.

The owner of the house, who prefers to remain anonymous, stated that the perpetrators specifically targeted his teenage daughter, subjecting her to molestation and forcefully tearing her clothes. When the family objected to their actions, the four individuals—identified as Vishal Kumar, Sanjay Kumar, Sheelu, and Chotu—initiated an attack. Additionally, several others were stationed outside the house, seemingly serving as lookouts.

All the attackers are in the age group 20 to 30 years. They vandalized our house and also pelted stones on our house. My daughter was hit with a brick in the head and she fell unconscious. My two sons also suffered injuries. Our vehicles were damaged,” he told the Times of India.

The girl’s brother said, “When neighbours gathered outside our house, the attackers went away, but not before threatening to kill us. Their attack on us went on for over 30 minutes. No one came to our rescue. We were targeted for being the only Muslim family in the locality.”

Police have registered an FIR against the accused under IPC section 452 (house-trespass after preparation for hurt, assault or wrongful restraint), 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 354 B (assault or use of criminal force to woman with intent to disrobe), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 506 (criminal intimidation), 427 (mischief causing damage), 336 (act endangering life or personal safety of others) and 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide).

Deputy Commissioner of Police Suraj Kumar Rai said “An FIR has been registered against the four accused. The matter is being investigated. Efforts are on to nab the absconding accused.”

“The injured have been sent for medical examination. The accused are on the run. Two of them are siblings and the others are their relatives,” said Trans Yamuna SHO Anand Prakash.
